Ringkasan program
This course aims to train diploma graduates with a balance of both business and food preparation or culinary art knowledge for the F&B service and catering industry. This unique breed of graduates equipped with skills in both business and F&B product would provide the F and B industry with the next generation of supervisors and managers. With these skill sets, graduates could eventually become future leaders and entrepreneurs in the F and B Sector. In short, not only would this course prepare students for self employment in a quick-to-market, low entry barrier industry, the training would make the graduates a sought after group for the F and B sector. Graduates from the Diploma in Food and Beverage Business will be able to gain employment as supervisors in restaurants, fast food outlets and catering services; service managers in restaurant and food service outlets; food marketing executives for food caterers and food service companies; entrepreneurs that start up F and B business; chef and cook in restaurants, food service outlets and catering services. The diploma course will provide adequate knowledge and competencies which will enable them to meet the demands of the profession and requirements of the industry.

Course Structure: With the broad-based, comprehensive and well-balanced programme, students will have strong foundation of food business, food service management and culinary arts. students will be taught: Fundamental and essential food business knowledge in economics, essentials of marketing, principles of accounting, business communication, financial management, human resource management and entrepreneurship; Key culinary skills required for F and B services in food culture, baking and pastry, basic cookery, Asian and International cuisine, stock and sauces preparation, patisserie and desserts and beverage preparation; Essential food service management skills in managing customer experience, purchasing and food logistics, menu planning and cost control, food service preparation, food and beverage services

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examinations results (at not more than two sittings) and fulfill the aggregate computation requirements. 1-6 Grade in English Language; 1-6 Grade in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional); 1-6 Grade in any 2 other subjects, excluding CCA. To be eligible for selection, applicants must also have sat for at least 1 of the following: Additional Combined Science; Additional Science; Biology; Chemistry; Combined Science; Computer Studies; Creative 3D Animation; Design and Technology; Engineering Science; Food and Nutrition; Fundamentals of Electronics; General Science; Human and Social Biology; Integrated Science; Physics; Physical Science; Science (Chemistry, Biology); Science (Physics, Biology); Science (Physics, Chemistry); Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
