This programme's focus is on creativity and its integrated project based studio-oriented learning environment will hone the design and detailing skills of the students. Conceptualise creative spatial environments with their individual design abilities and philosophy through the use of varying means of representational techniques e.g. three-dimensional physical models and digital technologies; Articulate and present design processes and ideas; Integrate design, theory and technology as part of the creative process; Develop design with quality detailing; Communicate and present designs through the use of multimedia technology; and Manage implementation of projects. Graduates are able to work in the following practices: Architecture and Interior Design, Exhibition / stage set/ event design, Furniture design, Model making, Merchandise organizations with in house design/display department, Consulting firms related to the building industry, Computer rendering and animations. He or she could be: An Interior Designer, An Architectural assistant, A project manager for interior works, A designer in computer graphics and animation, A sales executive for interior design related products and services. Graduates who have done well for the course may be able to apply for advanced standing to do a degree in a university.

Year 2 covers SD112Z Interior Design Studio 2; SD116Z Materials and Technology 2; SD107Z Theory of Design 2; SD113Z Interior Design Communication 2; LC8003 Social Innovation Project; LC1013 Report Writing and Presentation; LC8004 Independent Study Project and Presentation; LC1014 Communication Skills for Work; IS1006 Industrial Training Programme. Year 3 covers SD114YZ Interior Design Studio 3; SD117Z Materials and Technology 3; SD110Z Theory of Design 3; SD115YZ Interior Design Practice.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants from India should have obtained Secondary School Certificate (Year 10) or Senior School Certificate (Year 12). Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to New Zealand. They should also have sufficient level of Proficiency in the English Language with TOEFL score of 550 [paper-based], 213 [computer-based] or 79 [internet-based], or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall minimum score of 6.0.
