This course aims to provide students with a broad-based education in media studies with a strong business perspective; provide students with creative media production management skills in the areas of TV and Print, from conceptualization to post-production; equip students with knowledge to start, develop and manage media businesses; enable students to manage media projects, supervised by lecturers with extensive industry experience, during the one semester TEP programme; provide students with the experience in managing a campus TV network - from programme acquisition and scheduling, developing and executing promotion campaigns to marketing TV airtime to industry clients; immerse students in a one semester internship programme with leading media companies to give them working experience in the industry. The course will produce graduates who are not only creative and media savvy but also entrepreneurial and business-focused. The curriculum includes the Teaching Enterprise Project (TEP), a one semester hands-on training programme that exposes students to TV and Print production projects, programming and management of a campus TV network and industry-driven projects.

Modul program

Course Structure: Diploma equips students with three different but complimentary sets of skills. Communication Skills through modules such as Presenting for TV and Radio, Journalistic Writing, Writing for the Mass Media, Public Relations and Communications Management and Integrated Marketing Communications. Production Skills through practice-oriented modules such as Digital Film and Video Production, Multi-Camera Production, Advanced Editing and Post Production, New Media and Multi-Platform Production and Media Production Management. Management Skills through modules such as Business Law, People and Supervisory Management, Media Financial Management, Print Media Management, Media Marketing Management and Entrepreneurship.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students from Malaysia should should have the following SPM/UEC Examination at not more than two sittings: A+ to C / 1 to 6 in Bahasa Inggeris, A+ to C / 1 to 6 in elementary, additional or advanced in Mathematics, and A+ to C / 1 to 6 in any three other subjects. To be eligible for selection, students must also have sat for at least one of the following subjects: Geography; History; Principles of Accounts; Commerce/Commercial Studies; Literature in English/Chinese/Malay/Tamil Combined Humanities. Chinese students need to have completed National College Entrance Examination Certificate qualifications with at least five points above Tier 2 score line. Indian, Indonesian and Vietnamese students should have Standard 12 qualifications. Students from Myanmar should have BEHS Certificate. Other international students need to have International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or national examination at Standard 12.
