Ringkasan program

This programme is specially targeted at those who are interested in teaching English as a second or foreign language. On Completion, students will: understand how language is acquired, understand what constitutes errors in a language, know the principles on which modern language teaching is based, understand what phonetic and phonology are, know which methodologies can be used to teach English, know how to use materials and aids to teach English in class, know how to organise the class and know how to design lesson plans. Students who have successfully completed all course work and passed all prescribed examinations and assignments as set by Harriet Business School will be awarded the Diploma.

The course outline includes: The nature of language and its acquisition; Language teaching principles and methodologies; Language Teaching Methodology; Teaching the language skills; Teaching materials and aids; Classroom Planning and Organisation; The Syllabus; Organising the Class; Lesson Planning; Linguistics and Language Teaching; Phonetics and Phonology; Grammar, Morphology, and Syntax; Vocabulary and Meaning; Application of Linguistics to language teaching.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have completed GCE 'N' level equivalent qualification and mature students aged 21 and above, subject to final approval of admission by Harriet Academic Board.
