Ringkasan program

This course provides students to learn broad-based skills and knowledge in electrical, electronics and mechanical discipline to enable them to perform work involving assembling, installing, and setting up industrial automated equipment and systems. On completion of the course, students should be able to install, maintain and service pneumatic/electro-pneumatic and hydraulic /electro-hydraulic controlled systems; construct and assemble mechanical support; prepare and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings; install and test electrical systems; install and test peripheral devices and microcomputer controlled systems; troubleshoot electronics systems; set up industrial automation systems, modifies plc program and troubleshoot a simple automated production system at module level; set up automated manufacturing systems, auto vision systems and communication networks; set up and test-runs industrial robot with written test program; set up precision motion control systems. Graduates are employed by engineering and manufacturing firms using sophisticated equipment and automated machinery. Some of the job titles held by graduates include automation technician engineering assistant, industrial engineering technician, mechantronics technician, plant maintenance technician and production supervisor. There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have completed GCE 'O' level grades in English language, mathematics and one approved science subject, with Grade 1 - 8 in English language and in an approved science subject, Grade 1 - 7 in mathematics (elementary or additional); or GCE 'N(A)' level passes in English language, mathematics and three other subjects, with Grade 1-4 in English language and mathematics, Grade 1-5 in three other subjects; and a total of 19 points or less for English, mathematics and three other subjects (ELMAB3).
