This programme aims to give students keener insights into the workings of business organisations, and to supplement their knowledge and understanding in critical areas and issues of commercial law, such as agency law, commercialization of intellectual property, corporate crime, comparative competition law and commercial dispute resolution. This programme is designed to meet the growing needs of legal professionals in the region and beyond. Courses are taught exclusively to postgraduate students and in the characteristic SMU seminar style, providing a rich environment for exchange and discussion, and the acceleration of learning.
Modul program
The prescribed courses are: Business, Strategy and Organisation (BSO) and Overseas Study Mission (OSM); free electives: Comparative Legal Systems, Law and Economic Development: Asian Experiences, Law, Regulation and Technology; choose four: Comparative Competition Law, Commercialisation of Intellectual property, Complex International Litigation, Contract Remedies, Corporate Crime, Law of Agency, Mergers and Acquisitions.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants to the programme should have an LLB or a JD degree and at least two years' working experience. Applicants without a basic law degree but who have substantial knowledge of and exposure to law may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who have earned a law degree by correspondence course work or distance learning are not eligible for admission. Applications submitted by third-party educational advisors or consultants are strongly discouraged. Such applications may hinder their chances as the school has no way of verifying that the application is indeed their work. Applicants whose undergraduate degree is in a language other than English will need to demonstrate a proficiency in English. The following scores apply: TOEFL (Paper-based) score of 550, TOEFL (Computer-based) score of 213, TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 79 - 80 and IELTS: overall band score of 6.5. Scores must not be more than two years old.

Singapore Management University (SMU) diluncurkan dalam kolaborasi dengan University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Universitas ini didirikan pada 12 Januari 2000 sebagai universitas swasta pertama di Singapura dengan pendanaan besar dari pemerintah.
Menempati kampus mutakhir di jantung Singapura, SMU menjadi rumah bagi 7.000 mahasiswa. Terdiri dari enam jurusan yang menawarkan program S1 dan pascasarjana dalam lingkungan yang hidup dan dinamis. The School of Law's mission is to build a collegial team of excellent researchers and teachers and to nurture lawyers who will lead and serve the community with distinction. The Law School will offer a four-year full-time LLB programme, as well as a five-year double-degree programme which combines law with SMU's existing non-law programmes in accountancy, business, economics, information systems and social sciences. The School of Law has also recently launched a full-time graduate programme called the Juris Doctor (J.D.) Programme. It follows the same academic calendar/grading scheme as the LL.B programme and can be completed within three years. However the programme may be accelerated in some cases for completion within 2 years.

The Singapore Management University has the following hostel facilities: SMU Residences at Prinsep and Accommodation at Havelock. The SMU Residences at Prinsep Street is open to fresh undergraduates uprooted from their home towns, to get used to life in SMU and in Singapore. The residence is in close proximity to Little India, Arab Street, Bugis Junction and the National Library. The hostel is surrounded by museums, theatres, educational institutions, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and a range of retail outlets. The residence consists of three blocks of four-storey apartments in a tropical setting with landscaping and abundant foliage. There are a total of 48 individual apartments. Each has a lounge cum dinning area, equipped with refrigerator and microwave oven, two toilets cum shower and four bedrooms with multi-split air conditioning (two single and two twin sharing bed) which can accommodate up to six residents. Rooms are furnished with a loft bed/study table, wardrobe, towel rail study chairs, waste bins and mattress. Rooms are also equipped with power points, LAN points and circular PL lamps. SMU has recently leased 220 beds of student hostels at Havelock Road from EM Services Pte Ltd (a private hostel operator) and it is open to senior undergraduate students (full-time SMU students second year and above), exchange students and full time post graduate students who plans to study full time at SMU for the forthcoming semester. There are 56 apartments which consist of a common lounge on the 15th floor. Each apartment has a living room (approx.16.68sqm) with a dining table; a kitchen (approx. 3.6sqm) equipped with refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle, electrical hot plate for simple cooking; a toilet cum shower and two bedrooms (approx. 12.95sqm) with air conditioning, two single beds, mattresses, study tables/chairs and wardrobe. The apartment is fully equipped with power points and wireless internet connection.
