This programme equips the participants with the skills and knowledge to use the correct terminology in interacting with healthcare professionals and patients. The unit also equips healthcare support worker with skills to explain basic medical terms and acronyms in interactions with patients and next-of-kin. This programme provides understanding of the principles of medical terminology; appropriate usage of medical terminology and acronyms in interactions with healthcare professionals; explanation of basic medical terminology and acronyms in interactions with patients and next-of-kin; and assessment mode - written assessment; oral assessment; role play.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants should be able to listen, speak, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Literacy Level 4. They should be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Literacy Level 4.

The Centre for Professional Development (CPD) aims to promote life-long learning among working adults so that they can stay relevant in the current knowledge-based economy. It offers a suite of Continuing Education and Training (CET) programs, ranging from personal interest and self-improvement to job specific training. The CET certificate and diploma programs are specially designed to help working adults upgrade their work skills or prepare for career transitions. The key features of Republic Polytechnic’s (RP) CET programs include the use of well researched pedagogical practices and learner-centred approaches, and strong links with industry partners to ensure relevance to current practices and the latest technological advancements. Accommodation is provided at Campus Heights apartment which is specially designed and built for staff as well as international students who are not familiar with the new living environment in Singapore. These are fully furnished three bedroom apartment rented out at affordable rates for newly enrolled international students. Situated at the northern part of Republic Polytechnic, amidst a picturesque setting of natural greenery is within minutes walk to sporting facilities like swimming pools, gymnasium, tennis courts. Living on-campus in Republic Polytechnic is certainly an experience that boasts a good mix of convenience and lifestyle. Accommodation is also available for short-term stay by foreign visitors who are invited by RP for official reasons.
