Ringkasan program
The programme covers the applied aspects of animal science such as the production and management of commercial livestock within animal-based agricultural systems; students develop a scientific understanding of the nutrition, physiology and production of animals and how they interact with their physical environment; this scientific approach is combined with studying business management so that students also gain an understanding of how to manage groups of animals from a business and consultancy perspective; in the 1st year, students study biological sciences, subjects covered include whole organism biology, nutrition, and animal physiology; in the 2nd year applicants study applied animal science, practical animal physiology and animal behaviour as well as training to prepare students for their research project; during year 3 students conduct a research project in a topic of their choice; and study topics such as livestock production science, rural business management, companion animal science and applied bioethics.
