Ringkasan program
This module covers both theoretical investigations, illustrated by examples from published sites, and practical demonstrations on how animal bones are identified and how the data is recorded. It examines taphonomic processes and how faunal assemblages contribute to the interpretation of important aspects of settlement and site function. On completion, participants should be able to record and measure animal bones, identify biological species and estimate age at death, critically analyse bone reports and assess the contribution of faunal assemblages to studies of past societies.
