Ringkasan program

This is a specialised award which is not combined with any other course; students on this course study geographical concepts and principles in both physical and human geography strands in all 3 years of their degree (levels 4, 5 and 6) which allows students to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding of the fundamentals of thinking and working spatially; at level 5 students undertake a geosciences industry experience placement of their choosing with tutor support; while the digital cartography module builds on the basic principles of ArcGIS use and application learned in level 4; at level 6 students take more responsibility for their own learning in the applied geosciences dissertation and take 2 practical based geotechnical modules.

Modul program

Compulsory modules include: Geosciences industry (a short placement with a relevant organisation the student�s choosing); (a full list can be found on the School of Science, Society and Management website). Optional modules include: Development and sustainability; public health nutrition; environmental hazards; criminology and criminal justice; coastal and river management; creating a business (a full list can be found on the School of Science, Society and Management website); a community engagement module is also optional in the 3rd year, and involves a period of volunteering with your chosen organisation.
