This programme provides students with scientific knowledge of the coastal environment and an understanding of the pressures placed on it; it also allows students to gain the skills required to assimilate knowledge over a wide range of disciplines and apply it to environmental analysis.
Modul program
Core modules include: research methods; integrated coastal zone management; marine chemistry and near shore ecology; geology, geophysics and physical oceanography of shelves and coasts; research skills; marine science and regulations; MSc dissertation; options chosen from: pollution ecology/ecotoxicology; remote sensing and geographical information systems; marine chemistry; marine pollution; marine geophysics; palaeoceanography; coastal erosion and protection; economics of the marine environment; modelling marine processes.
