Architectural technology focuses on the technical aspects of building design and construction; this includes the need for a sustainable approach in terms of environment, economic and social impact; architectural technologists provide design services and solutions; they must be knowledgeable in science, materials, design and technology; working within a team they manage the process from inception through to completion; awarded by the university of Ulster, the foundation degree in architectural technology with sustainable design is intended to prepare students for a career as an architectural technologist and offers a progression route to honours degree level, if appropriate.

Modul program

Modules include: Sustainable construction 1; mathematics and structures; environmental science and materials; architectural technology; introduction to computer aided design; construction surveying; information technology and emerging technologies; architectural graphics and project; sustainable construction 2; building services and renewable energy; design principles and procedures; work-based learning, CADD applications and graphics; law and construction contract and maintenance and adaptation.
