The practice of medicine is being transformed by the increasing role of engineering, physics mathematics and computer science; this new 3 year programme positions students at the forefront of these developments; all teaching is delivered by expert teaching staff (both clinicians and academics), at the cutting edge of their field; the new 3 year BEng biomedical engineering provides a foundation in mathematics, engineering and science, on which is built a specialised biomedical engineering focused curriculum, which includes (imaging; materials and biomaterials; computational techniques/modelling; signal processing).
Modul program
Year 1 examples: Anatomy and physiology; electrical engineering I; mathematics II; physics II; physics labs. Year 2 examples: Electrical engineering II; systems and control; signal processing; mechatronics; introduction to medical physics/technology. Year 3 examples: Introduction to materials and biomaterials; introduction to imaging; biomedical engineering I; biomedical engineering II; BEng project.
