Students study the business, financial, management and economic environments of contemporary China; applicants gain a thorough understanding of the Chinese language and culture; the 1st year includes Mandarin language from beginners' level (for non-native speakers) and introductory modules relevant to china's contemporary economy and business environment; students also take a limited number of modules from the schools of business and economics, from a group which includes introduction to management accounting, how do markets work?, and insurance in a risky world; there is also room in the programme for students to explore other aspects of contemporary china, such as history, law, or popular culture; students can spend the 2nd year studying in China and carry out a research project on a topic of their choice; students also study China�s international relations, economic development in Asia and international political economy; in the 3rd year applicants study globalization and innovation in China, Chinese business and society, and economics of strategy and applications.
