Ringkasan program
For students with a technical background, the programme offers a strong foundation in technology management and technology-based innovation, along with an understanding of sophisticated and emerging information technologies, and of how these can be utilised in order to gain a competitive advantage in today's business environment; for individuals with a computing background (academic and/or practitioner), the programme offers updated skills and knowledge of modern information and data management technologies, along with an understanding of the important link between technology and management; lastly, for those already working in business environments that heavily depend on information technology, the programme offers knowledge and skills in the design, development and management of modern and emerging information and data management technologies, along with an understanding of how to take advantage of the changes and possibilities technology can bring in a competitive and technology-driven business environment.
Modul program
Compulsory modules: research methods in management, intellectual capital and competitiveness, and data and knowledge management, plus a substantial project; 5 modules from the following groups: information and technology management/technology-based innovation (up to 2 modules): creative industries and knowledge economy; economics and governance of innovation and institutions; entrepreneurship and innovation; e-business strategy and policy; innovation: management and policy; innovation systems, networks and social capital; technology development and implementation (up to 4 modules): data warehousing and data mining; information retrieval and organisation; internet and web technologies; intelligent technologies; object-oriented design and programming; component-based software development; computational intelligence; search engines and web navigation; mobile and ubiquitous computing; the project provides an opportunity for students to investigate an aspect of the subject that particularly interests them; projects should involve technology development and/or implementation, and discuss or evaluate technology with regards to how it affects organisational knowledge, social capital, and quality of communication in an organisation.
