This degree is exclusively by research and a project and supervisor will have been identified during the application process; key research areas: atmospheric chemistry and kinetics; chemical biology; materials and polymer synthesis and characterisation; molecular modelling and molecular informatics; spectroscopic and structural methods; structural chemistry; surface science and heterogeneous catalysis; synthetic and mechanistic chemistry; theoretical/computational chemistry; the department has research links with: Cambridge Centre for Molecular Recognition, Centre for Atmospheric Science, Melville Laboratory for Polymer Synthesis, BP Institute for Multiphase Flow.
