The course enables students to further their knowledge of chemistry with a carefully put together range of core modules; they can expand their interest further by selecting from a wide range of optional modules; additionally, they benefit from working on a research project within one of the diverse range of internationally recognised research groups (alongside PhD students and post doctoral research fellows).

Core: organic synthesis and characterisation of biologically active compounds (20 CP); physical properties of solid-state and nano-composite materials (20 CP); inorganic chemistry beyond the molecule (20 CP); research methods and independent study (20 CP); research project (60 CP); options: chemotherapeutics (20 CP); drug detection, analysis and screening (20CP).
