Ringkasan program
The department is situated at the new Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital which serves the 100000 children of Grampian Region and the Northern Isles; the Clinical Investigation Unit on the lower ground floor is also available in support of research projects involving children and families; tertiary services provided include general and specialist surgery, mental health, oncology, haematology, gastro enterology, diabetes and endocrinology, cystic fibrosis, respiratory disease, neurology, perinatology and neonatology; cardiology and nephrology services are provided in collaboration with centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow; the department hosts the Scottish Medicines for Children Network and plays a leading role in the development of clinical trials and pharmacoepidemilogy of medicinal products relevant to children; other major research themes are respiratory health and disease and Autistic spectrum disorder.
