This higher national diploma course supports the STEM initiative (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and is delivered and assessed over 2 years while studying full time; the qualification introduces a nationally recognised credit framework through QCF; the course provides a specialist and work-related qualification and prepares students for employment or access to further study; it is based on the needs of students, employers and professional bodies in the regional economy.
