In this course participants will gain expertise and understanding of all areas relevant to modern computing and networking. They will cover: internet, games and web technologies, usability, systems software and computer networking. They will be prepared for their future career through personal development and group working, as modern computing and networking is always done as part of a team. It covers in year one: IT professional, computers and networks, database systems 1, computer programming 1, systems analysis and design 1, and web development; and in year two: mobile and games development, dynamic web development, local area networks, work based project, systems analysis and design 2 ,and computer programming 2. The practical skills developed on this course leave students well placed to seek employment in a wide variety of computing positions upon graduation. A suggested progression route may be possible to the BSc Computing Framework programmes at Bournemouth University.
