The course will provide participants with a knowledge base for a range of careers in the horticultural industry as well as flexibility, knowledge, skills and motivation to become a professional. It covers modules that include: investigative project in the horticultural sector, principles of plant and soil science, land based machinery operations, undertake and review work experience in the land based industries, undertake identification, selection and use of ornamental plants, construct horizontal landscape surfaces, construct and restore walls, establish and manage exterior displays, manage plant propagation activities, understand the principles and practices of landscape and garden design.
