The course examines all aspects of practical theatre and students are expected to develop expertise in at least 1 of the following areas: performing; directing; designing; lighting; stage management.
Modul program
2/3rds of modules are in English literature; 2 modules in theatre studies are taken each year (making up 1/3rd of this degree course); theatre modules over the 3 years include: theatre and performance: introduction; creative practice; theatre and performance: society; theatre and performance: the self; theatre practice; writing for performance; final year group project. English modules over the 3 years include: textual analysis; critical interpretation; travellers� tales; the literature of laughter; heroes and villains: introduction to medieval literature; exploring America: an introduction to US literature; late early 20th century literature; reason to romanticism; Shakespeare and early modern dramatists; medieval literature; words and music.
