This course combines the rigor of the scientific methods offered by geology, biology, physical geography and environmental science it also provides students with the means to address, from a scientific perspective, the major environmental issues and problems which confront us. It also allows for the assessment of the environmental 'footprint' of modern society via a variety of scientific approaches.
Modul program
Year 1: Science of the physical environment; practising environmental science; rocks minerals and fossils; geographical skills; geo.com. Year 2: Research methods; digital geographies; biogeography; environmental pollution chemistry; weather, climate and soils. Year 3: Environmental management; pollution and biomonitoring; geoenvironmental engineering; managing the geoenvironment; climatic change; coastal zone environments and management; postglacial environments; recent environmental change; advanced digital geographies.
