This course is designed to enable learners to develop the underpinning knowledge, values and understanding for the health and social care sector, as well as enhancing practical skills; the diploma is made up of 16 units, which are assessed through assignment work and class presentations; in addition to college-based learning, learners undertake work experience in the health and social care sector in a wide range of settings, which is essential in order to contextualise learning and to clarify career aspirations; an access NI check is undertaken for all learners at the commencement of their course.
