This programme has a particularly strong emphasis on plant collections; it has been designed to fulfil student's ambition to work in gardens, landscapes and botanical collections or in the plant science sector.
Modul program
Year 1: Plant propagation; biological concepts; evolutionary development and classification; soils and plant science; landscape design and construction; business foundations; professional development; industrial work placement (6 weeks). Year 2: Compulsory modules: plant identification and use; plant reproduction and development; genetics and breeding; horticultural science; major integrated assignment; there is a 1-week residential field trip to visit some of the top gardens and plant collections in the UK (Kew, Wisley, Wakehurst, Sheffield Park, Bedgebury); 2 optional modules: landscape and management technology; heritage gardens and plant collections; business operations.
