Law students study the principles relating to the law of Northern Ireland which is similar to that of other English-speaking countries and also European Community law; the philosophical and sociological aspects of law can also be studied; the academic study of politics is concerned with the sources of conflict among human beings; how they express their differences through ideology and organisation; and how, if at all, their disagreements are resolved; students look at conflict and its origins and trajectories, at theories of society, at the history of political thought and at politics in historical contexts; candidates must study the 4 modules specified in the pathway for the degree and 14 other modules, 10 of which must be chosen from the list of law subjects and the remaining from politics modules.
