The MEnt programme enables students to develop entrepreneurial skills to either start their own business, work for organisations where enterprise and innovation are crucial, or to become expert researchers in these areas. The backbone of the programme is the enterprise project which is worth 120 credits. This continuous piece of research develops competencies in knowledge transfer, combining enterprise, entrepreneurship and innovation research in a commercial context. Over the year, the project is supported by two compulsory enterprise units which give insight into entrepreneurial processes. These units also give students the theoretical grounding for the development of the business opportunity or research topic. Students also choose two optional subjects from any of the University of Manchester’s postgraduate courses, enhancing their understanding of their chosen academic discipline.
