Students choose their study base in Bournemouth or Portsmouth for this course; this course prepares students for registration as a midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and to gain a professional qualification; the course offers students the opportunity to become a proficient and reflective practitioner of midwifery who is able to base their practice on research, holistic care and commitment to lifelong learning; theory and practice are integrated throughout, and experience is gained in both community and hospital settings, working in partnership with mothers and midwives.
