The Graduate Training Programme (GTP) is an employment based route into teaching which requires applicants to have had some experience in school; the GTP suits a variety of individuals from various backgrounds and it is expected that trainees bring transferable life skills through to the programme from their experiences in education and industry; it is a requirement that all GTP trainees follow the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) route; subjects currently supported on the secondary GTP are: business education; design and technology; English; information communication technology; mathematics; music; physical education; science.
