The course gives students the opportunity to: undertake advanced study of social justice, development and health interactions, drawing on a range of related disciplines such as anthropology, economics, epidemiology, health policy, management studies, psychology, public health and sociology; engage in debates examining current and future trends affecting the health and social well-being of disadvantaged, excluded and vulnerable populations; engage critically and reflexively in a range of social bodies as both professionals and citizens; enhance their lifelong learning and personal development skills.

Modul program

Core modules: social justice; social development policy and practice; international health and social policy; health-related research; research design and planning; plus, 1 from either; international public health; health systems; elective modules: 2 from the following modules: environmental justice; gender, health and development; HIV and development; independent study; participatory appraisal and evaluation; policy and practice in complex emergencies; project design and management; psychosocial interventions with war-affected populations; sexual and reproductive health; dissertation, project or research proposal (Master's only).
