Ringkasan program

The course is an interdisciplinary social science training programme designed to prepare students for further research in the workplace or for PhD/MPhil study; the programme covers ontology, epistemology, quantitative and qualitative techniques, and advanced methods masterclasses; all students also carry out an independent dissertation, putting the methods and theoretical concepts they have been taught into practice; the programme provides a particularly strong environment for theoretically-informed, interdisciplinary and socially-engaged research.

Modul program

Full-time students take 2 taught modules in each term and then complete a 15000-word dissertation in the 3rd term and summer period; term 1: quantitative social research; theorising social research; term 2: qualitative social research; research methods masterclass; part-time students take 1 taught module in the 1st and 2nd terms for 2 years and work on their dissertations in the 3rd terms and summer periods; year 1: term 1: quantitative social research; term 2: qualitative social research; year 2: term 1: theorising social research; term 2: research methods masterclass.
