The course offers a portfolio of courses designed to raise standards in social work practice and help social workers demonstrate their competence to work within complex situations; the courses are part of the GSCC Post Qualifying Award framework and have been developed through partnerships with a variety of local authorities, voluntary and independent agencies throughout England; the new specialist social work awards are available in the following areas: Children and families; social work with adults; mental health; each specialist social work award starts with the consolidation and preparation for specialist practice module (formerly PQ1) and also contains enabling work based learning module (formerly PQ6).
