Ringkasan program
The global bioenergy market is undergoing dramatic growth as governments and energy companies around the world look to biological sources to supply a larger share of transport fuels and electricity generation; as a result, the industry needs qualified people with the right skills to sustainably drive the sector forward; this course is designed to provide students with the advanced knowledge and understanding to do this; the course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable bioenergy and equips them with the technical knowledge and practical skills to develop a career in bioenergy or related biotechnology sectors in energy companies, research institutes and governments; the course provides knowledge of the fundamental, cross-disciplinary principles and practices underpinning sustainable bioenergy and its industrial and research applications; the course covers the framework of UK, EU and international policy, regulations and incentive schemes put in place for bioenergy and other energy users and providers; students learn how industry is utilising research findings and acquire a range of practical techniques and their uses, together with appropriate procedures for analysis and presentation of biological data.
Modul program
Core modules: bioenergy via physiochemical conversion (20 credits); sustainability and biofuels (20 credits); biofuel fermentation (10 credits); combustion and pollution control (10 credits); principles of crop science (10 credits); regulation and management of energy supply and use (10 credits); resource capture by crops (10 credits); dissertation.
