The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has as its mission the accumulation, generation, and dissemination of knowledge in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Central to the mission is a high quality educational and research program that benefits the students and the State of North Carolina. The Department acts as a statewide focal point for development, growth and entrepreneurship. The national and international reputation of the department also facilitates future growth in areas of fundamental economic importance to the State.

University Housing provides on-campus residential facilities for more than 8,000 students. From traditional residence halls and apartments for upper-division students to apartment-style housing for families, it offers a variety of residential options to accommodate student interests and needs. Residence halls offer amenities such as computer labs, Internet, laundry rooms, kitchens, mini-fridge/microwave and optional cable TV service. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least twelve credit hours to be eligible to live on campus during the fall and spring terms. Students who must drop below these minimum requirements should contact University Housing to request an exception. During the summer terms, housing is provided for any enrolled student as space permits. University Housing maintains self-help listings of off-campus apartments, rooms and houses for rent.
