Ringkasan program
This combined degree offers undergraduate majors the opportunity to complete the M.A. in one additional year of classes after the BA. This capstone option requires that the student plan, execute, and defend a practical or creative project that is grounded in interdisciplinary scholarship, feminist and/or gender theories, and directed independent study and/or internship that results in a contribution to community service or the creative arts.
Modul program
The modules are Five Core Women's and Gender Studies Courses: WGS 400 Feminist and Gender Theories, WGS 465 Globalization, Transnationalism and Gender, WGS 491 Methods and Scholarship in Woman's and Gender Studies, WGS 485 Gender, Agency, and Social Change, WGS 415 Contentions in Feminist and Gender Theorizing, five or six Elective courses organized around a focus tailored to the individual student's needs, and a Capstone consisting of two-course Practical or Creative Project Option. Year One: Fall: WGS 400: Feminist and Gender Theories (Core), Elective, Winter: WGS 465: Globalization, Transnationalism, and Gender (Core), Elective, Spring: WGS 491: Methods and Scholarship in Women's and Gender Studies (Core), Elective, Year Two: Fall: WGS 485: Gender, Agency, and Social Change (Core), Elective, Winter: WGS 415: Contentions in Feminist and Gender Theorizing (Core), Elective and/or Independent Research, Spring: Elective and/or Independent Research (total of two courses, 8 credit hours).
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree. They should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in WGS courses and an overall GPA of 3.0 throughout the remainder of their undergraduate career and have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the three graduate courses taken during their senior year. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 96 on the internet-based test, 243 on the computer-based test and 590 on the paper-based test. For the internet version of TOEFL, 22 are the minimum required score for each section.
