Ringkasan program

This program equips graduates to promote health and wellness through the planning and implementation of nutritional programs and services. It prepares students to work as a dietetic technician, registered (DTR) in both health care and commercial food service settings. The program is seeking accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE). If accredited by CADE, graduates of the program would be eligible to take the examination to become registered dietetic technicians. Dietetic technicians may work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, correctional facilities, schools, food processing and manufacturing concerns and restaurants. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the demand for registered dietetic technicians will grow faster than the average of all occupations through 2014 because as the population grows and ages, demand for enhanced health care and wellness programs increases.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must have completed high school core curriculum requirements such as four units in English - grammar, composition and literature, three units in mathematics - algebra I and above, two units in history - must include one unit of American history, two units in lab science - biology, chemistry, physics or any lab science certified by the school district, one unit in citizenship skills - economics, geography, government, non-western culture, three units in other - additional units of subjects above and/or from computer science and/or foreign language. Applicants should have graduated from an accredited high school or should have earned a General Education Diploma (GED). In addition to this, international students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (paper-based), or 61 (internet-based); or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0.
