The music major is available at both Fordham College at Rose Hill and Fordham College at Lincoln Center. The program covers a range of courses that include music theory, performance, and history. The program, which leads to a B.A., is an academically oriented one, aimed at liberal arts students who would like to study the history of music as a humanistic discipline. The program prepares students to go onto graduate studies, a career in teaching, or one that combines music with other disciplines.

Admission Requirements are as follows: Applicants need to score 90+ above on the IBT, 230+ on the CBT, 575+ on the PBT, or 7.0+ on the IELTS. Scores of SAT, ACT TOEFL or IELTS are also required. As an alternative to submitting the TOEFL or IELTS results, applicants can also choose to take the Fordham University ESL placement evaluation at the Institute of American Language and Culture (IALC) at the Lincoln Center campus. If applicable, also provide any national testing results, for example, GCSE, CXC, ICSE results or projected results for IB, A levels, etc.
