This program focuses on both general building construction and heavy highway construction. The option emphasizes the application of technology and engineering principles in the construction industry. This knowledge is based on a foundation of mathematics, physical science, communications, and personnel relations. The construction engineering technology curriculum provides a hands-on learning environment emphasizing labs and field work that utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and software. Facilities include well-equipped computer laboratories for computer-aided design and drafting (CAD), estimating, and project planning. Modern electronic surveying equipment gives students experience in site layout for construction projects. Other construction laboratory facilities are devoted to soil, aggregate, and concrete testing, electrical and mechanical systems equipment, and materials strength testing equipment. Graduates of the construction engineering technology option perform a variety of job functions, including materials testing, site surveying, cost estimating, project coordination, and many other management functions on both building and highway construction projects.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
