NCTA strives to introduce students to the latest science, technology and techniques. The Agriculture Production Systems major trains students in the fundamentals of livestock production, equine industry, animal health, equipment and natural resource management. The major is an interdisciplinary program which involves faculty in a number of departments on campus working together using crops, livestock, computers and equipment. The curriculum integrates production with business, management and marketing aspects of agriculture. The opportunities to learn outside of the traditional classroom enhance the program of study at NCTA and provide students with a truly unique education.

Residence halls are available for convenient on-campus living. All first year NCTA students will have the opportunity to experience residence hall life. Each dormitory is staffed with a dorm parent and security personnel. Dormitory living promotes the building of life-long friendships, creation of memories and fun and monthly birthday parties, holiday activities, sporting events, ice cream socials, hot dog roasts in the fireplace, guest speakers and other activities foster group participation. Students don’t have to live in a residence hall to take advantage of the great food and low prices offered by NCTA’s cafeteria. Fourteen meals per week are provided in the cafeteria from monday morning through friday at noon. Located in the lower level of the women’s residence hall, the cafeteria offers full menus including a variety of entrees, a salad bar, soft-serve ice cream, soft drinks, juices and milk. Breads and desserts complete the menu choices. The men’s and women’s residence halls at NCTA have the capacity for approximately 150 students. Each hall has a live-in adult supervisor (dorm parent) that oversees operations, functions and concerns of students within the halls. Security personal also help monitor the safety in the halls.
