This program addresses major topics that impact instruction-such as the historical and philosophical contexts of contemporary education, diversity in the classroom and the exceptional learner. Students are required to apply writing and problem-solving skills to evaluate topics covered through written assignments, discussion and debate. Where available, this program prepares students for transition into the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at University of Phoenix.

Modul program

The modules are as follows: AED200 Contemporary Issues in American Education, AED201 Teaching as a Profession, AED204 Diversity in the Classroom, AED222 Introduction to the Exceptional Learner, and MTH156 Math for Elementary Teachers I, MTH157 Math for Elementary Teachers II.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicant must have earned a high school diploma, GED, California High School Proficiency Examination certificate, or foreign secondary school equivalent. Applicants who do not currently meet this requirement can arrange to take the GED through their state GED administrator's office or search for the nearest GED testing center. They can be currently employed and if not, they must have access to an organizational environment that allows them to apply the concepts they learn in their courses. They can be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved, valid visa if attending a campus located in the United States. Students should pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), the Berlitz Online English Proficiency Exam or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if the student is a non-native speaker of English.
