In the Graphic Design program, students will be exposed to many areas of the visual communications field. Butte College offers a complete design and computer lab to aid in the development of job-related skills and techniques. This program intends to prepare students for entry level positions. Students who successfully complete the program and plan to earn a four-year degree will have a solid foundation for application to the design school of their choice.
Modul program
The Modules include: ART 2 Art History Survey I or ART 4 Art History Survey II, ART 7 Basic Design I, Color, ART 8 Basic Drawing, ART 31 Graphic Design I, ART 32 Creative Typography (Pre), ART 34 Graphic Design II (Pre), ART 35 Illustration Art I (Pre), ART 36 Illustration Art II (Pre), ART 70 Gallery Production/Business of Art, ART 95 Special Studies, ART 96 Introduction to Computer Graphics, BUS 60 Advertising and Copywriting, MSP 1 Multimedia Careers, MSP 18 Introduction to Digital Photography, PHO 2 Basic Photography, RTVF 12 Mass Media and Society (GE: Area B).

The student seeking admission into the University must have the following requirements: An official high school transcript indicating superior preparation and notice of graduation; Minimum TOEFL Score of 133 on the computer-based test or 45 on the internet based test or they can demonstrate their proficiency by taking IELTS with a minimum score of 5.0 or ELS with a minimum score of 109.

Butte College, with over 20,000 students, is a nationally accredited community college located just 75 miles north of Sacramento. Butte College offers a quality education where students can earn associate’s degrees, train for over 100 career options, or take general education classes to transfer to CSU, Chico, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara or private universities. Butte College International Students have a variety of housing options. 1. Home Stay / Home Share: This housing option places students with a local family that has been pre-screened by Butte College for cleanliness and safety and has demonstrated a desire to house international students. This is a great option for the student who is seeking the convenience of a living arrangement that already has the comforts of home and who seeks a family environment in which to live. Basic amenities included in all Home Stay programs include a bed, desk, dresser, kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities and access to shared living areas. 2. Craig Hall Dormitories / Student Housing: This housing option is popular for many first-time freshmen. Craig Hall offers a close knit and exciting apartment style living for students only. Some rooms are private and others are shared with two or more students. The rooms are furnished with a bed, dresser and computer desk while some have even more options. Freshly prepared meals are served to students on location in a dining facility with many meal plans available to choose from; late night dining choices are also available for after hour snacking. 3. Private Apartment Living: This housing option is popular for students who are independent and seek a space of their own. Most students choose this option after they have established connections in the area and have made friends during their first year. Most students rent an apartment for six-month to one-year periods of time. When selecting apartment, make sure it is in a desirable location and close to bus lines, shopping and social activities. Most students who choose this option will live with one or more roommates, but living alone is also an option for those who would like more personal space.
