Ringkasan program
This program enables students to serve more effectively as members and leaders in their organizations. This is an interdisciplinary field that deals with work, the workplace, and workers and their organizations. It draws from the fields of history, economics, industrial relations, political science, law, sociology, communication, and philosophy, as well as other disciplines. As an academic discipline, Labor Studies’ educates workers and future workers to strengthen the labor movement and provide a richer understanding of its functions in society. Students can also gain a sense of the past and present contexts of work and unionism. Because union leaders need to be familiar with economics, communications, and other subjects, labor studies can assist them in mastering a broad range of learning. The program encourages students to make socially useful choices in carrying out the many responsibilities of union membership, union leadership, and community citizenship.

This program required areas of learning: the following are representative subjects in the three major required areas of learning: Arts and Humanities: Afro American Studies, Classical Studies, Comparative Literature, English, Fine Arts, Folklore and Ethnomusicology, History, History and Philosophy of Science, Journalism, Languages, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Speech and Communication, Theatre and Drama, Physical Science and Mathematics: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Zoology, Social and Behavioral Sciences: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and must have the SAT verbal results of 400 or 17 English ACT. International applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 500(paper-based version), 173 (computer-based version), 61 (Internet-based version) or an IELTS score of 5.5 or score of 45 on Pearson Test of English Academic or to study English intensively at the ELS Language Centers at IUPUI and complete ELS intensive Level 109. Students from Japan must have a "Pre-First Grade" score on the STEP Eiken. After being admitted, students may require to take one or more supplemental EAP courses to develop additional language proficiency if TOEFL scores are below 80 (iBT), 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) in IUPUI EAP placement test.
