Ringkasan program

American Ethnic Studies is the interdisciplinary study of the historical, political, social and cultural realities that have shaped the development of America’s diverse, ethnic populations; primarily focusing on African Americans, Asian Americans, Latino/a Americans and native American populations. The undergraduate major provides a broad liberal arts education with skills in critical thinking, comparative analysis, social theory, data analysis, oral and written communication. Emphasis will be placed on multicultural competency development, preparing students to live and work in a diverse world. An American Ethnic Studies major will provide students training for fields in law, education, medicine, public health, social work, journalism, business, urban planning, politics, counseling, international relations, creative writing, university teaching and research.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
