The Chemistry Department is on the Approved List of the American Chemical Society (ACS). The chemistry laboratories are among the best equipped in the region. Most important, all this equipment is available for use by undergraduate students - one of the advantages offered by a university committed to teaching. The department has a number of laboratories specifically designed for research in addition to good computer facilities, a chemistry departmental library and a well stocked storeroom.

Living in a residence hall at Minnesota State University Moorhead means living in a community and this community is a dynamic place, composed of various people with different values, cultures, lifestyles, and attitudes. The residential halls are: Ballard, Dahl, Grantham, John Neumaier, Nelson, Snarr Complex. Student rooms are double occupancy, designed single occupancy, double as single occupancy or suite rooms. All the halls provide community bathroom facilities; Kitchenette facilities; Lounges; Weight rooms and aerobic areas; E-mail terminal areas; Vending areas; Laundry rooms; etc. Every room is provided with Hall Desk Services; Internet Access; GMW Service; Laundry Vending Service; Mail Service; Maintenance and Repair Service; Telephone Service; and Television Cable Service.
