Ringkasan program
This program is designed to apply to a wide variety of social work practice settings. The preparatory course work for this major includes a basis in the liberal arts requiring classes in human biology, economics, public health, psychology, sociology, statistics and social work. The upper division curriculum is intensive and exciting. It encompasses course work in social work practice, human behavior, cultural pluralism, social policy, macro level practice, and research. Elective seminars are available in specialized fields such as child welfare, aging, alcohol and other drugs, and family studies. A field work practicum experience is also required. With the increased emphasis on rehabilitation in criminal justice work, this specialization prepares social work students to provide case management and other services in community corrections settings including probation, corrections, and re-entry programs.
Modul program
The modules include Social Work 110, 120; Biology 100 or any three units in a human biology course; Economics 101 or three units of any economics course; Psychology 101; Public Health 101; Sociology 101; Psychology 280 or Sociology 201 or Statistics 250. (24-25 units); A minimum of nine units in the criminal justice major in lieu of social work electives, Required courses are Criminal Justice 300, 330; and Criminal Justice 531 or 543. Students in this specialization will also be assigned to a criminal justice setting for their social work field practicum: Social Work 489A-489B (8 units); Recommended: Criminal Justice 430 and/or 431.

Students should have a minimum US equivalent GPA of 3.0 (B grade or about 80 per cent) or higher. In addition to this, international students whose major education has been in a language other than English must score 550 or higher (using the paper version) or 213 or higher (using the computer version) or 80 or higher (using the internet version) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or 6.5 or better on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
