Ringkasan program

This program in family support and engagement concentration is for students who seek to work in Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) family child care; or to support families in their communities as a home visitor, parent educator, play group facilitator, parent group leader, family literacy specialist, outreach worker, etc. Training in the facilitation of family engagement to support the development of young children is a key part of this concentration. Internships will be identified in inclusive, community settings working primarily with families.

The program modules are as follows: ECHD 208 Introduction to Infant and Toddler Care and Education, ECHD 435 Family Systems - Support and Engagement, ANTH L301 Childhood in America, ANTH 285 Language and Culture, Psych 300 Personality, Social 242 The Family, AMST 350 Race, Class, Gender, AMST 301L Childhood in American WOST 100 Women in Society.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have completed four years of English, three years of college preparatory mathematics (algebra II is a minimum requirement), two years of the same foreign language, three years of science (including two with a laboratory component), two years of social science including one course in U.S. history, and two electives from the above areas, arts and humanities, or computer science. In addition, they must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550-600 on the paper test, 213-250 on the computer-based test, or 79-80 on the TOEFL IBT test, IELTS score of 6.0 or better and SAT or ACT scores are also required. Non-native speakers with a SAT-I verbal score of 400 or higher do not need to take the TOEFL.
