This program in infant/toddler and early intervention concentration is designed for individuals who seek to work as developmental specialist with the Department of Public Health (DPH), or as infant/toddler lead teachers under the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Student will develop skills in observing, assessing, and fostering the development of children from birth to three years of age. Internships will provide direct opportunities to work with infants and toddlers in inclusive settings. Student current work site placements will be considered for internships whenever appropriate. Students seeking DPH certification must complete an internship in a DPH-approved program.

Modul program

The program modules are as follows: Introduction to I/T Care and Education, Early Intervention, ENGL335 Children's Literature, ANTH L301 Childhood in America, ANTH 285 Language and Culture, Psych 300 Personality, Social 242 The Family, Psych 441 Family and the Child.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have completed four years of English, three years of college preparatory mathematics (algebra II is a minimum requirement), two years of the same foreign language, three years of science (including two with a laboratory component), two years of social science including one course in U.S. history, and two electives from the above areas, arts and humanities, or computer science. In addition, they must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550-600 on the paper test, 213-250 on the computer-based test, or 79-80 on the TOEFL IBT test, IELTS score of 6.0 or better and SAT or ACT scores are also required. Non-native speakers with a SAT-I verbal score of 400 or higher do not need to take the TOEFL.
