Ringkasan program
This program in preschool education and care concentration is for students who will work with preschoolers in Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) programs (both licensed and license-exempt). Students will learn to create positive environments, conduct curriculum and assessment for three to five year olds and foster family engagement. Internships in inclusive settings are woven into the fabric of the concentration, and may include placements in center based, head start, or family child care programs. Internship placements in student current work sites will be considered whenever appropriate.
Modul program
The program modules are as follows: Science and Mathematics Instruction for All Young Children, Technology for All Young Children, ECHD 487 Literacy Mentoring, and ANTH L301 Childhood in America, ENGL335 Children's Literature, ANTH 285 Language and Culture, Psych 447 Cognitive Development, Psych 441 Family and the Child, Social 242 the Family.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have completed four years of English, three years of college preparatory mathematics (algebra II is a minimum requirement), two years of the same foreign language, three years of science (including two with a laboratory component), two years of social science including one course in U.S. history, and two electives from the above areas, arts and humanities, or computer science. In addition, they must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550-600 on the paper test, 213-250 on the computer-based test, or 79-80 on the TOEFL IBT test, IELTS score of 6.0 or better and SAT or ACT scores are also required. Non-native speakers with a SAT-I verbal score of 400 or higher do not need to take the TOEFL.
