Ringkasan program
This program is an appropriate discipline for students who wish to pursue a career in a planning-related field or desire to take graduate training in planning. The geography pre-planning option provides a broad interdisciplinary background and a core curriculum in geography. Completion of the requirements will also yield a graduate certificate in community planning from the department of regional and community planning. The courses for the pre-planning option include all of those required for geography major.

The modules include Choose one from the following: (3 credit hours): GEOG 700 - Quantitative Analysis in Geography Credits: (3), GEOG 702 - Computer Mapping and Geographic Visualization Credits: (3), GEOG 705 - Remote Sensing of the Environment Credits: (3), GEOG 708 - Geographic Information Systems II Credits: (3), Choose one from the following: (3 credit hours): ECON 555 - Urban and Regional Economics Credits: (3), POLSC 618 - Urban Politics Credits: (3), SOCIO 531 - Urban Sociology Credits: (3), From the Department of Regional and Community Planning (15 credit hours): Three additional planning courses Credits: (9), PLAN 315 - Introduction to City Planning Credits: (3) or PLAN 715 - Planning Principles Credits: (3), Choose one from the following: PLAN 752 - Physical Processes of Plan Implementation Credits: (3) or PLAN 753 - Planning Law Credits: (3).
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
