This program equips students with the knowledge, research experience, and analytical skills for entry into a wide range of graduate/professorial studies. It also prepares students for successful careers in research, education, law, international affairs, and public service. Historians are employed by universities, museums, archives, government agencies, public affairs organizations, and print/electronic media firms. Above all, students develop an abiding appreciation for the knowledge of the past, as it is crucial to understanding and working with the challenges and opportunities that confront people today.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants should have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent. Adequate preparation typically includes English (four years), social studies (three years), mathematics (three years), science (two years) and college preparatory electives (four years). For unconditional admission they must have obtained a minimum of GPA 2.5, SAT 900 (critical reading and math) or ACT 19, or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 21(computer-based) or 79-80 (internet based).

Chaminade University, the only Catholic university in Hawaii, provides a rich educational experience. Chaminade is a place where people grow professionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Ingredients of a Chaminade education include academic excellence, professional preparation, close involvement with professors and classmates, a supportive campus atmosphere and a vibrant campus life, opportunities to contribute to society while still in school, and multi-cultural awareness and understanding. It offers 23 undergraduate degree programs on its main Honolulu campus, five graduate degree programs, and several degree opportunities for working adults, through evening and weekend courses in satellite locations and online. It offers its students an education in a collaborative learning environment that prepares them for life, service and successful careers.

First year students who need university housing are assigned to halls on campus. Upper classmen/women that need university housing have the option of living in on campus or off-campus Chaminade residence halls. The off-campus buildings are in close proximity to Chaminade. The residence halls available are Hale Lokelani, Kieffer Hall, Hale Pohaku, Waialae, Date Street and Iolani Terrace. The Hale Lokelani is located on campus and has men or women suites with double or triple occupany. The Hale Pohaku is located on campus and has men or women suites. The Kieffer Hall is located on campus and has single, double or triple occupany ans accommodates only women. The Waialae Building is located off campus (4/10 mile from campus) and is a co-ed building with furnished apartments. The Date Street Building is located off campus (1 mile from campus) and is a co-ed building with furnished apartments. The Iolani Terrace is located off campus (7/10 mile from campus) and is a co-ed building with furnished apartments. All residence halls have parking with permit. Wireless internet service is available in all on-campus and off-campus residence halls and apartments. To have residential telephone service in their room or apartment, students must contact the local telephone company directly to apply for service. Telephone service lines are not available in all residence halls. To have residential television cable service in their room or apartment, students must contact the local cable company directly to apply for service. Television cable lines are not available in all residence halls. Food services are available for students living in campus housing. Residents of Hale Lokelani, Hale Pohaku and Kieffer Hall are required to have a meal plan. This is part of the contract as a condition of residing in these halls. Since the rooms do not have kitchens, no personal cooking is allowed in residence halls for safety and sanitation reasons. Students in these residence halls may choose from Tuberose (A), Plumeria (B) or Pikake (C) plans. If no meal plan is chosen, students will automatically be placed on the Tuberose (A) meal plan for the semester. Students living in the apartment complexes Waialae, Date Street and Iolani Terrace may choose to sign up for any of the meal plans, however they are not required to. For apartment residents who would like the flexibility and ease of having some of their meals prepared for them, Plan D has been specially designed for them.
